Meadow Hill Guest House is situated in a prominent position above the beautiful Borders market town of Berwick upon Tweed. With excellent panoramic views along the coast to Lindisfarne and Bamburgh Castle, and as far inland as the Cheviot hills in the distance, this is an ideal base from which to tour the area.
Christine and Tony Barton extend a warm and hospitable welcome to all their guests, and have incorporated two very special rooms on the ground floor to accommodate the less mobile. They are keenly aware of the need for good disabled accommodation in the area, and strive to make everyone as comfortable as possible during their stay.
All the guest bedrooms at Meadow Hill Guest House are spacious and comfortable, with en-suite facilities, a TV, comfy chairs, and a selection of complimentary hot beverages to make you feel at home. The ground floor disabled rooms have fantastic en-suite facilities with special showers, basins and toilets for disabled guests. Less able-bodied guests can choose from a twin bed room or a family room, with a double and two single beds on the ground floor. The other rooms all have ample space and outstanding views out across Berwick to the sea and mountains.
Naturally a mouth-watering breakfast is included in your stay, and you can choose from cereals, fresh fruit, juices, or a full cooked Borders breakfast, made with fresh local ingredients.
After a scrumptious breakfast enjoy the delights of Berwick, from shopping on the High Street, coffee in the town hall, a walk round the Elizabethan ramparts, or views of the harbour and the swans from the town walls.
A short distance from Berwick is the tidal island of Lindisfarne, Holy Island, where you can sample Meade, and visit the castle which was once owned by Edwin Lutyens. Further to the south are Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle, and Newcastle; and to the north, the Scottish capital of Edinburgh.
